visual aids to success

The wandering around heads nowhere, yet such life style is worhy pondering. While the setting of the wise goals just offers a lot, the courage to glimpse at what‘s underfoot reveals everything about life :
This digital painting enabled me to appreciate my HERE and NOW more than any before.

Shield of Smile

The digital painting Shield of a Smile looks at us and guesses what would be our response.
That's the art therapy. It always starts as the artist puts down his paintbrush. That is always a test. So I have to choose now. I can either smile to all passersby (to welcome the strangers as myself) or try to look wise and hide my story under the lock.
The truth I confess in my writings quite often spots the purity of colors that I had luck to sense. So you can either rejoice at my Shield of Smile  (at the artworks of art by Tomas) or read about my contradicting emotions below each picture.

Autumn Joke

Art deals with the symbols. Thus there is no wonder for the magical transformation takes place while painting. The fall looks attractively and the sunset associates with the dawn...
While reading my diary you will witness the incredible journey of the sorrowful reports to the splendor of fine arts.

Healing tears

This digital painting looks like wet space Thus I named it the HEALING TEARS. They are wet too, isn't it?
The below text should explain the titles of Art by Tomas in more details for it would be easier to move in the world of metaphors.

Hello is always Hello, yet people spread that message  differently. While most are used to talk in their native language, I prefer the prompts of my Lithuanian-English dictionary to my mother-tongue that I love so much. That may look a bit confusing at a glimpse, yet my actions are so easy to explain. Writing in English adds a sense of some authority to my musings on life and thus increases the self-confidence. The last looks like a dream, and it is especially desirable to each who is out of work for life because of his social status of the disabler. So I am glad to pay the cost- to agree to be a stranger among my own due to writing in the foreign. Though the last is the hard experience, yet it is so good to visualize the fruits of my pen as the statements that are worthy pondering deeper. In the light of the above, what may look like childish play obtains the value – showcases the traditional „Hi!“ as heartily as consciously.

memento

In this digital painting I recognize myself in my yard and open the diary. That was the real memento. Fine arts didn't weep but lighted the candles on the graves of the unknown.

Last one standing

Top painting sounds better than one of my sketches, yet both titles display the same information. The picture reminds of the inability of the rabbits to bark at the strangers. The Nature always surprises me and thus urges to look around more attentively. I recognized myself in the Last one standing and that awareness commissioned me to appreciate the fairy tales more – to spread the message to be grateful

The secret of my sketchbook

This photo belongs to my sketchbook, so many may be improved here, yet I want to show this "rough draft" to you already now,  because this shot not only depicts my environment but overviews the whole life too. Plus  the photography helped me to grasp the mysterious transformation that takes place at the journey of personal diary to the public showroom. While looking  at the picture ""Secret of a sketchbook", I grasped the symbolism of the change of passion to respectful silence. So there are the keys:
Each time I go outside, I sense myself embraced by fresh breath of the wondrous day and thus the sketchbook opens as if out of itself - automatically.  Meanwhile the exhibitions demands lots of various arrangements. As I think about these emotions, it becomes obvious that the sketchbooks symbolize God's love (the light that makes us all to flow out on the wings of the gratitude)  meanwhile our artworks express the human response and so often looks like the withered flowers.

the haunted key fob

The day demanded wise response. It was inappropriate to play with the words, so I took a photo.
Today's Top Sites Tuesday theme knocked on the heart and thus the picture the haunted key fob appeared on a screen of Art by Tomas.

Titles kill the light

Titles kill the light. It was enough to name the picture as Life in a Window and the abstract painting ceased to reflect my being illuminating emotions. The truth became the handicraft at a moment I put down my paintbrush. The process of painting  was changed into making the statements then. So joy to see grew up into the need of counting what was achieved till now.....As I looked around, I recognized myself as man of great property - I could allow myself even such luxury as the breathing at a cost of 0,00 - for a free... on Art by Tomas blog.

artistic reply to Top Sites Tuesday #82 – What made you decide to be a blogger?

When daily news challenge and the yesterday looks like the heaven on earth today, only art colors comfort the heart. While reflecting this sad reality, the pictures announce the ultimate victory of the light and thus inspire the wish not to give up- awake from hard musings.
Unfortunately, art exhibitions become more and more expensive pleasure. The fees already exceed my ability to pay for the participation in art camps. Thus I accepted the blogging as the divine gift that enabled me to remain in the fairyland of happy tales till now. Hope to meet you next Tuesday too.

Top Sites Tuesday #78 – American Football Cheers and Jeers!

Each time I hear anything about Football, it reminds me the fairy tale I read in childhood.
Each time I remember the fairy tale, my imagination puts me on mind travels:

Warrior in Fall 2010 - digital painting by Tomas Karkalas

The story of that old fairy tale was of a jinnee named Khottabych who once was brought by his master to a football game. He watched the game for a little while and then started a rain of football balls. He gave each player one so there will no longer be a need to fight.

autumn bloom

Butterfly in Plaster presents old-men' talking as the autumn bloom

autumn bloom 2010 digital painting by Tomas Karkalas

I too know "the water is wet" yet eagerly look for a quote to prove that. The above looks silly, yet describes my activity well.
This confession interprets the picture the best and thus enables art lovers to enjoy the life that has nothing in common with sad stories of paintbrush holder but bloom in peace at a moment people respond to what they touch with love.

The bark leaves a tree

The bark leaves a tree, and that is not a fantasy - the photography tell the truth- the white headed promotes a smile. The colors challenge to awake though only the dreams are listening ...

confrontation with windfall

As you click on the picture below, the painting will be enlarged. That is  confrontation with windfall.

Here is a story of 60x80 cm digital image:
once upon a time...there was an apple on my table. It was washed and safe to eat (free from dirt and any musings on life) . That was the challenging vision that forced me to take the paintbrush. The fruit had no story worthy to mention prior I started to paint it. The apple was just something to eat. Now  everything look otherwise. There is nothing to eat, but you can dream over meaning of life at the colorful canvas.  Wow, just magical transformation took part: while looking at the artwork I am not starving and lack nothing at a moment. I looked around once again and named the fruit the windfall (so I linked my personal story to the delicious fruit that I used as the nature to my drawing: Windfall is one of my nicknames)
