Top Sites Tuesday #78 – American Football Cheers and Jeers!

Each time I hear anything about Football, it reminds me the fairy tale I read in childhood.
Each time I remember the fairy tale, my imagination puts me on mind travels:

Warrior in Fall 2010 - digital painting by Tomas Karkalas

The story of that old fairy tale was of a jinnee named Khottabych who once was brought by his master to a football game. He watched the game for a little while and then started a rain of football balls. He gave each player one so there will no longer be a need to fight.

autumn bloom

Butterfly in Plaster presents old-men' talking as the autumn bloom

autumn bloom 2010 digital painting by Tomas Karkalas

I too know "the water is wet" yet eagerly look for a quote to prove that. The above looks silly, yet describes my activity well.
This confession interprets the picture the best and thus enables art lovers to enjoy the life that has nothing in common with sad stories of paintbrush holder but bloom in peace at a moment people respond to what they touch with love.

The bark leaves a tree

The bark leaves a tree, and that is not a fantasy - the photography tell the truth- the white headed promotes a smile. The colors challenge to awake though only the dreams are listening ...

confrontation with windfall

As you click on the picture below, the painting will be enlarged. That is  confrontation with windfall.

Here is a story of 60x80 cm digital image:
once upon a time...there was an apple on my table. It was washed and safe to eat (free from dirt and any musings on life) . That was the challenging vision that forced me to take the paintbrush. The fruit had no story worthy to mention prior I started to paint it. The apple was just something to eat. Now  everything look otherwise. There is nothing to eat, but you can dream over meaning of life at the colorful canvas.  Wow, just magical transformation took part: while looking at the artwork I am not starving and lack nothing at a moment. I looked around once again and named the fruit the windfall (so I linked my personal story to the delicious fruit that I used as the nature to my drawing: Windfall is one of my nicknames)

mother bee upside down

Our willingness to listen transforms rough voice of the banners into the lovely music – changes banner headlines to mysterious depth of fine arts. Thus digital painting Mother Bee Upside Down has a chance to knock on the heart :

This digital painting introduces mother bee upside down. Is that the imitation of the sunbeam’s fall unto the ground, or a failure of the composition? Should I rejoice at divine generosity, or weep for my weakness to reflect the truth- to see the light in the darkness? Despite hard questions, it is easy to recognize the blossom of the flower in that abstract composition. My daughter said its summer time.

This may look like painting for the sake of painting indeed, yet a glimpse at a mirror urges not to hurry with such conclusion. While I rejoiced over the dazzling light of inner peace and was grateful therefore to God, I also saw my bodily sickness and was grateful for the time to listen and to hear the poetry of people with disabilities, who were smiling despite the physical restrictions to share their glorious message. Let’s look at the picture once again.
Is it the bee or the artwork upside down?

shadow on a smile

The silence is like the light. As the sun illuminates my road, so silence expresses peace with myself and the world.Yet the sun drops the shadows, and  the silence looks likewise at times. However, each artist knows the shadows are the building bricks of a picture that glorifies the light. With that in mind lets guess what makes the silence awkward at times. Who indwells the shadows that reflect the light? Why?

My grandson is in search of an answer too. We both are looking around yet experience the different pictures. While he is growing in awareness of  his surroundings, my understanding of a current state of an apple on a bottom of the photo leads me nowhere. Yet we both are rejoicing : my grandson smiles to me, and  and I discover myself in him - we both are learning to grasp the silence (to deal with metaphors) The shadows link us together.
